Welcome to my Professional Portfolio

My Personal Statement
What separates New Technology High School from every other high school in the country is an education; an education that prepares students for the real world and its unforgiving attitude. Job employers complain all the time about how America’s educational system does not correctly educate today’s youth in ways that are acceptable at a real job. Bill Gates once said that the workplace is not like high school, things cannot be allowed to be turned in late. Well that’s why New Tech was created, that’s why I can go to New Tech and be confident that the tasks I’m doing there will effect my future career, and that is also why this webpage is here: to show my potential employers the dedication and preparation I put into my projects.

New Technology High School uses eight “Learning Outcomes” to determine a student’s effectiveness.  These are eight separate standards that are given grades according to our work.  First they look at our work and then decide to which skill the credit is deserved. Here are the eight learning outcomes:

  • Career Preparation
  • Citizenship and Ethics
  • Collaboration
  • Critical Thinking
  • Curricular Literacy
  • Oral Communication
  • Technology Literacy
  • Written Communication

For example, a student might be told to do an analysis and presentation on child labor in America.  If the student uses PowerPoint and has good communicates their information effectively then both the Technology Literacy and Oral Communication learning outcomes.

For a more in depth description on each of the Eight Learning Outcomes and for a few examples of my skill in them simply follow the appropriate links to the left.
