My greatest achievement was when I was nominated and accepted to represent California at the National Young Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. this summer. Last Spring I received a letter in the mail nominating myself for this, at first I doubted I would be able to participate as the total cost would nearly be $5,000. However, with a new job and a lot of help from my parents I was able to attend.

At the conference I was able to meet new people while learning diplomatic procedures and the U.S. government. I engaged in multiple simulations, including a mock cabinet, mock senate meeting, and mock committee hearing. I worked with a core group to engage in lessons and activities about very facets of the U.S. political system. Overall I took away a great learning experience.
