Oral Communication is important both in the business world and in your personal life. If you are unable to make yourself understood in one or the other of them you won’t have either very long. I personally feel that Oral Communication is one of the most important abilities that one can possess because I have always prided myself on being able to talk myself into or out of most situations. One aspect of Oral Communication is the ability to write (and then give) effective verbal presentations in front of a group of people. A second aspect is being able to effectively communicate with another through a conversation.
This is a link to my oral presentation rubric from my Great American Author project in my American Studies course. I feel that this makes a good example for Oral Communication because it shows how my teachers rate my verbal skills. Having good oral skills is important in life because in the job market your going to have to be able to effectively explain to others your thoughts and ideas.
