My personal statement gives more information about me, my life, my dreams, and my goals. Should you wish to learn a little more about me just keep on reading below... I am a student at New Technology High School in Napa, CA. As my Senior year passes I look back on those decisions that I have made, and those that I am still making, that are shaping my future. I try hard and I get good grades (usually) but I know that I wouldn’t if I didn’t enjoy school. I plan on going to college and I know that anuthing could be within my reach as long as I continue to apply myself whole heartedly to every task that presents itself. In this portfolio you can find samples of the work that I have completed for my classes here at New Tech as well as for internships and letters of recommendation. I grew up in the little Californian town of El Sobrante, which is just outside of San Francisco, with my parents, my little sister, and my little brother. I was home schooled from Kindergarten all the way up to 8th grade when I ‘transferred’ to Vista High School, an alternative education school near my home. After spending two years there I decided that I wanted to get an out-of-district transfer to Napa’s New Technology High School because of the unique learning environment that it provided. During the summer of 2005 I was a member of the Lion’s Club International Youth Exchange Program. I spent 5 weeks in Japan—living with people I had never met, in a country where they spoke a language that I couldn’t understand. It was a great lesson in patience for me and it gave me a chance to experience other cultures in real-life situations and meet to meet other youth from all over the world. For two years prior to my participation in the YE program I was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the only civilian auxiliary (non-combat) to the United States Air Force. Over the last several summers, I have spent over a month working on community service projects in Mexico ranging from building housing to repairing orphanages and handing out food and water at the dumps. This last year I served as my school's Tech Liaison (A.S.B.). I am planning in going to a college in the area, Napa Valley Community College (NVC), and studying the Administration of Justice before going to their BASIC Police Academy before applying for admision to the California Highway Patrol Police Academy. This school has 8 learning outcomes that I believe will assist me in my life. These learning outcomes are showed throughout the examples of my work along with a detailed explanation of each.
