When I first came to New Technology High School I was very shy in front of people I didn't know. Oral communication was the hardest fear of mine to overcome. After my first presentation in American Studies my friends told me they could barely hear me. I struggled to overcome my fear of public speaking throughout my time attending New Technology High School but I did this exactly.

From my start here at New Technology High School I was one of the weakest public speakers in my grade, I had poor projection, eye contact, and a lack of confidence. I tried to do things to help me to get better like using note cards and powerpoints or posters but nothing really helped, I was just shy. After my junior year passed my teachers were already telling me how I had gotten better at speaking louder but they told me I wasn't very articulate. That was my next goal, the next thing that I needed to work on. I did over a dozen presentations at New Tech and it has helped me to speak better in front of people.

My greatest Achievement is when I spoke on a panel of 10 students, one being myself, in front of over 500 people. This was very nerve wrecking but I enjoyed it and was told that I appeared to be the most confident and articulate student there. This program was videotaped and put onto the local channel for a month. My Oral Communication skills have greatly changed since I have come to New Tech and this would definitely have to be my greatest Achievement.
