Provided below are two letters of recommendation. The first is a letter of recomendation from a long time friend of the family, she helped me write this recommendation for a scholarship essay I wrote and which I ended up receieving a scholrshup for! :)

 I have been a family friend of the Gonzalez family for 20+ years and have known Maria since the day she was born. I have watched Maria grow from a toddler to the lovely young woman she is today. She is a very bright, articulate, organized and goal-oriented young woman. I am extremely impressed at what she has accomplished thus far in her Senior year from holding down a part-time job, attending classes at both New Tech High and Napa Valley College , as well as being a member of the Napa Valley College basketball team. She is committed to “bettering” herself as demonstrated by her present academic achievements. She has shown great initiative and commitment to continue her education by getting a jump start on college courses as a current high school student. She has overcome some personal obstacles in her life which I believe has made her into the strong-willed, committed, responsible person she is today. She has in essence taken control of her future at a young age and has shown the motivation and drive to accomplish her educational goals. Maria is a passionate young lady who is getting very far in her life and her education. I was ecstatic when she asked me to be her personal mentor. I had a great time with Maria despite the complications from the start. Maria is a shining star and no matter her attitude she will always have that heart of gold and adorable dimple to dimple smile. She is a dedicated well-organized person and can take on as many tasks as you hand to her. I know that whatever Maria says she will accomplish then she will accomplish it. She is not so much afraid of failure anymore but most certainly refuses to let it put her down or stop her from doing what she may want to do. There's not much you need to do to push Maria into doing something, she is a kind person and knows right from wrong and will do what is best for her and the people around her.
