Over the past four years I have grown tremendously. As a person, as a student, and now onward as an undergraduate student at the University of California Los Angeles and it is all thanks to the support and education that I have received here at New Tech High. In the beginning of my high school career, I had no idea what kind of impact my time at this little unconventional high school would bring me. Now that I am a part of the senior class and preparing to graduate, I can look back and appreciate all of the valuable moments that helped me grow and added to my success. I learned about myself, my learning style, and about how to interact and create success with others. I hope my professional portfolio will show you how hard I have worked this year and showcases what I believe are some of my greatest pieces of work.

This year has flown by so fast, through balancing classes, preparing for college applications, senior project, internship, hearing back from accepting colleges, portfolio and of course, graduation. It is and overwhelming and happy time, thinking about the future and everything I have taken from New Technology High School and everyone who has impacted my life here. Time is an unstoppable thing, you can’t speed it up or slow it down and you have to live for each day and the impact that you can make. I never want to have regrets, and I will work hard each day to better myself and grow. That is one of the mottos I go by and have learned to love. It takes time to grow and recognize who you are and who you can become. At this point in my life I may not have everything figured out, but I know what direction I want to go.

My experiences and interests throughout high school have helped me to prepare for higher education and discovering what I want to pursue in life. I have interned at Queen of the Valley Medical Center, served as ASB Vice President, performed as captain of my senior hip hop team, held a job and kept up with my senior year. Stressful times called for hard work and growth. I have gained skills that reflect the outcomes that are taught and implemented at New Tech. Through this professional portfolio, I hope to reflect some of the skills I have learned and help me to create goals and actions for my future. I have learned a lot about my learning style, what helps me succeed, and how to interact and grow with others. Some of my goals for the future are to take in all that I can and make the most out of each and every day I spend as a student of UCLA. I have had the time of my life in high school and learned that it isn’t always about the destination, but the path and the experiences that get you there.
