My name is Paul Salazar and as the end of high school grows closer to the end and as graduation approaches I am asked if I am excited. All I can really say is that I am looking forward to it. Graduation is just another one of life’s stages and I have been expecting it. My years at New Technology High School have been the best. In my portfolio you will see that I have included my best work that I have chosen throughout my senior year.

I am a simple guy, focused worker and also a laid back guy. In my free time I often write lyrics, but I figured that it is something that I enjoy doing in my free time and didn’t really want to make a career out of it. Last year I had a goal which was to create a rap demo tape from my senior project, however I was unsuccessful and couldn’t complete the project. With the whole rap deal out of the way I made a final decision that I was going to go forth and gain my major in psychology. It will take years of school, but in order to do something that I enjoy, I must continue to go to school. This year I have also noticed that I enjoy filming and editing, so as I work towards my major I will continue to make movies for fun.

When I was a sophomore I had this really cool physics teacher named Joshua Bozeday. He was one teacher who really helped me come out of my shell and be more out there, at least during my senior year. Another person was my English teacher Nancy Hale who was also supportive to me during my sophomore year. It was kind of funny because her and Bozeday we really good friends, so it was like they were both looking out for me. During my senior year, I had completed an internship which was quite significant. While other students were working at their business, I was doing research and interviewing psychologists just to find out more information about the subject of psychology.

My skills have improved throughout all of my years at New Tech, however they are not all perfected. My written communication skills are still a bit weak, but my oral communication and technology skills have made a huge process. You will see my technology skills in the videos that I have put in my portfolio. One video which is under my technology literacy page is a c-span video that we had created for our political studies class. The c-span video is based on ‘No Child Left Behind Act’ which me and my partners felt really strong about. Do check it out if you get the chance.

My plans now are to continue to go to school and do whatever it will take in order for me to become a great psychologist. I didn’t just go through all the research for in my internship for anything. And I don’t just help people for no reason, I want to make a difference in the world and I feel that after I receive my psychology major I will be one step closer to changing the world.
