Throughout my years in New Technology High School, I experienced many things that I think I wouldn’t have experienced at a regular high school. This school and the people I met here have helped one way or another form the person that I am today.

My family was also a big impact in my life. Not only do they support me academically but they support me in their own individual and yet personal ways.  This family that gives me all this support comes from my wonderful mother, sister, two half-brothers, step-father, and last but not least my father. I am not just giving credit to my immediate family, I also want to thank my extended family that has always been there for me and that has pushed me to succeed to this point of my life.

Friends, family, and loved ones are very important to me and I would like to give them credit for pushing me in looking into the many career fields that I was exposed throughout high school. This gave me an insight of the career that I would want to go into.

I have been exposed to the business, art and medical fields of careers. I am very interested in many careers at this point of my life that once I start junior college I will have a deeper understanding of each field which would help me make up my mind.

Choosing a career as a senior has not been the only obstacle that I have encountered in my life. I have had many problems with and at school, at home and personal problems as well. I would like to share with you a problem, a life threatening problem, which I had at home.

Around a year and eight months ago to be exact, my mother went into labor. The problem here was not my mother going into labor, the problem was my little brother when he was born. Jesus, my brother who is living strong now, was born with a heart defect Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return that affects his respiratory system. The doctors have told my family that my brother had a very small chance of surviving, but after my parents decided to go with the open-heart surgery that was suggested my little brother struggled and until this point he has been doing very well. This was a major part of my life and I don’t think that I would be looking at the world in the perspective that I see it now if that would not have happened.

There are many more events in my life that have been kept fresh in my life that keeps me thriving to see what the future has for me. This is a reason why I am going to continue on with a higher education because I know there are many more things I life that I need to experience. And I hope you enjoy my personal style that I have incorporated and compiled in my portfolio.
