Collaboration
Collaboration is a major aspect of our schools philosophy and our project based learning environment. Most all projects are conducted with fellow peers and collaboration is an aspect which is essential to the end result of the project.
One of my recent projects in Political Studies took a considerable amount of group work. The project was based off of the book Death of a Salesman and our group job was to create a business and business plan that would be able to support the Loman family. The business plan ended up being about six pages. It took a lot of group work with research analysis, analysis of the Napa market, planning and executing an effective business and coming together as a group for the presentation. We designed a pizzeria for the Loman family and our presentation was a large “menu” per say full of all of our graphs and business plan. Attached is the business plan which took about a week of in depth research and revising.
The second example that I will use of collaboration is my Senior Project. I am aspiring to be a master scuba diver which is the highest form of recreational diving. I am trying to get as far as possible in the small amount of time allowed for this project. Diving takes a lot of collaboration. So far, I have taken the Emergency First Response class which I completed and was certified as an Emergency First Responder. This requires much collaboration especially in an emergency. During this class, we all had to work together and role play "emergency scenarios". There is a link to my certification below.
