Finishing up my time here at New Technology High, I have now finished my fourth year being the first class of freshmen and the first class of seniors graduating who completed all four years. I have realized that my excuse for coming to New Tech all those years ago was to make new friends, and to get away from the old. I wanted to go somewhere where no one knew me; I just basically wanted a new start with more opportunities for my future and life.

Growing up with my parents divorced never really bothered me. I actually really enjoy it. Many teenagers my age these days are depressed and slitting their wrist because of the fact that their parents are split, but seriously wouldn’t they rather their parents be split then having your parents screaming, crying, fighting, and their kids just growing up in WWIII? I mean who really wants that? I sure in the hell wouldn’t. Having my parents divorced is actually quite nice with a lot of advantages: more presents on holidays, birthdays, and spending individual time with both mom and dad.

They each also have individual lives my dad with his wife along with her kids living in Occidental; me, mom, my siblings, along with my niece and nephew. Both my mom and dad also have different expectation of me for the future. Mom actually had two different ones for me one is to go into the military; something I’m still thinking about but maybe not; also she wants me to be successful, doesn’t matter at what, just successful and excelling at it. Dad on the other hand really really and I mean really always wanted me to be a Vet; do I want to…HELL NO! Why? Because watching those poor animals sick and injured being put to sleep…just kill me now and call it a day!!! But I did promise him that when I get settled down and everything I will be a foster mom for all kinds of animals.

Now my siblings are not my favorite but are still part of my life. My sibling tree is kinda confusing so I will explain to the best of my abilities. Craig and Cindy were married and they had Cheree. Craig and my mom got married and then had Michelle. Mom raised Cheree and took her in as her daughter after she and Craig split. Then Mom and my dad had me, Courtney. After being split for 13 years, my dad got married to his new wife Carol who has again just like me and my sisters Bret and Madeline who also has different dads. So yep that is my sibling tree I guess I could say. Jeez what is the world coming to these days...just kidding!

But yea my sisters are like the splinter in my butt they drive me absolutely crazy I mostly do the same but since they are closer in age they tend to gang up on me which I think isn’t fair at all especially since growing up we all acted like boys. We would fight not with each other that much I mean we would all wrestle and box with each other but we would really pick fights with other people, we played sports me and Michelle both played on all boys’ baseball teams while Cheree did soccer. And in the places we grew up you had to be tough.

Growing up I wasn’t always bad I mean a little bit I wasn’t the apple of everyone’s eyes and that I believe is because I did always follow orders I was more like the ugly duckling except not ugly…sorry I thought it was funny. But seriously my sisters were like connected to my mom hip all the time and I could care less I was to busy like lost in my own little world always playing games with everyone and always wanted to either be with my dad or my nana. Basically I wanted to be specifically with the two of them was because me and my dad, he always has and forever will teach me that keeping a clean house is a good thing, staying fit which is hard for most people is a good thing and not letting people change you and also finding a good man who can clean, cook and has a job a good thing but the truth is he will only let me go out with a guy if they can run at least a mile, harsh, but hey my dads a boxer what do you expect.

My nana she has always taken me and Michelle to Special Olympics which I am still currently involved in. I am now a head coach for basketball, volleyball, softball, bocce ball, and swimming. Being a certified coach and being involved with these athletes has really taught me how to deal and work with all varieties of people. I love being involved with Special Olympics and hope to gain the Napa Special Olympics from my nana when she retires.

This portfolio is basically about me and the skills that I have attained while attending New Tech. I have really transformed my ability to learn, understand, and react. I barely even had a vocabulary. Now I am using words like PONTIFICATE- it means to preach, to be dogmatic. It this portfolio you find evidence of my achievements on pages that represent me, a mix of random things yet interestingly colorful.
