Goal Statement                                                                                                           Brittany Morrell

My goal is to get an internship into a law firm.

Measures of Success

Unsatisfactory – Not doing anything, not taking necessary steps to get to my goal, not having a goal

Could do better – I could do better in trying to get an internship. Maybe talk to Ms. Hamler about it

Expected – I should be expected to talk to Ms. Hamler, and work on getting that internship

Distinguished – Research different law firms that are offering internship positions.

Tasks

-Research law firms

-Talk to internship coordinator

-Possibly get some letters of recommendation

-Get my resume together, and make it look presentable

Timing

-Middle of my junior year

-Beginning of my senior year

-Middle of my senior year

-Middle of my Junior year

Self Assessment

-Researching really isn't hard for me, so I know I can do this easily

-This is required, so I know that I can complete this task as well

-This would be the hard part because I don't know who I would go to, to get the letters of rec.

-This is the hard part, because I don't know what they are requiring me to put into the resume. I will seek help from the Ms. Hamler or Mrs. Saiki on this making my resume look professional and well put together.

Results

If I follow these steps then my goal would be accomplished. There are some key points that I will add later along the way, because I don't know what I would need to try and obtain an internship at a law firm. So, as I progress and really start researching, getting my stuff together then will I know what will be really required of me reach this goal. I also have to make myself options, so if one plan would fail then I have other things that I can do as well. This is just what I think I will need to get an internship, so like I said before I will be adding and subtracting from this goal sheet.
