Personal Statement

Introduction

My name is Dylan Williams, I do indeed have a middle name or initial if you prefer, but neither of the two, latter or former shall be announced, as I do believe that the middle name does not need to be widely known among others. Perhaps once you have read this you might have a 0.0001 chance of guessing my name, but I doubt it. This portfolio that is to follow reads of my achievements at New Technology High School and it has been put together in order for the readers to gain a higher understanding of my life, skills, and anything else thrown together in this Personal Portfolio.

Backround/Bio

I was born in a small town in Washington State named Longview or Kelso, they are also known as Longview/Kelso or Kelso/Longview because of the small radius of the two towns. As an only child my younger years were bleak and I didn’t have to deal with others on a high level socially. Therefore I found making friends an ominous task and did not delve into social life right away. For my first three years, things went slowly and school almost seemed to get easier as I got used to the rapidly changing environment of our technological world. At fourth grade I transferred from Columbia Heights Elementary to a school called Olympic Elementary, I was only in this school for a little over a month. We had a very strict and difficult math program, where I gained most of my mathematical knowledge, we moved at a faster pace than most of the other 4th grade programs in Washington. After the uneventfully short month I transferred once again to a school called Northlake Elementary, here I was the most mathematical knowledgeable person in the class, next to our teacher of course. I finished my 4th grade career here, and then moved again. The next school was called Caitlin Elementary and I was in this school for two years, with the same teacher, who’s name was Mrs. Gravelle. It turned out that in sixth grade we went to Camp Sysbus some distance North of Longview/Kelso. After the 6th grade year in Caitlin Elementary, my mother then wanted to move to Napa, California to live with her boyfriend Tony Carpenter and his son Charlie Carpenter. It was then when we moved to California that I realized the next few years would probably be a living hell. Much of my family lived to the North in the North of Oregon and Southern Washington. A great surprise however was when I found that things got better after year one in Redwood Middle School. Although it took a long time and some tolerance I got used to Tony and his son, although things between me and the young Mr. Carpenter had become tense. The 8th grade year passed quickly and it seemed even quicker that I was accepted to New Technology High School. So I am here towards the end of my tenth grade year, having had chances to make many new friends and work with them on their problems. I do not believe I need to name those that I speak of, as it is not a necessity. But I guarantee they are real people that anyone at my school reading this will probably know. In any case, it is now that I have discovered that I have some skill in counseling and working with people on their problems.

Experiences & Interests

I’ll start with the bad news, I was mugged some time ago, and I think it was in my 5th grade year, luckily they didn’t take anything. Although they did hit me in the back with a board with a rusted nail sticking out of it. That hurt… a lot. That is one of the few experiences that you have endured that shows you the true cruelty of the world. Out of the bad news I will now speak of my interests. In school I have next to none, probably less than two or three. One of which is just hanging out with my friends, the other one or two are so minuscule that I cannot think of them. However my interests out of school or even at home come to a long list but not a ridiculous amount more than my school interests. I do collect cards, all kinds, ranging from Pokémon, even this day, to Every Way Vision Cards. Another of my interests or hobbies if you so wish to call it is to play games, ranging also a wide spread from any of the old paper RPG’s like D&D to a modern day fighting game. I have interests in this broad range for no particular reason, but it just seems as though it might be hereditary, because my father Ray has the same interests. Once again I like to hang out with my friends, as I do everywhere and almost anywhere. Once again however that’s about how much I can totally think of. Occasionally I will do something I don’t normally like do something extra credit for school like watching an educational movie or going to a play.

Goals & Skills

What are my goals one might ask? Well for one, I don’t think I would enjoy being a burger flipper for the rest of my life, so after College I hope to get a job as a Private Investigator, as the fields that P.I.’s work in always interested me. Although lately I have been considered the idea of working as a counselor or psychiatrist, considering how often I have worked with my friends thr0ugh problems and helped them through hard times in their life. In addition to all of this of course I have some major skill in figuring out things that I am only given small scraps of information. Furthermore I do have some more goals for this year, one more anyways, one that is an educational goal, as for this year I would like to get all A’s and B’s in my classes, I do not wish to repeat last year, of which I got unsatisfactory grades that I would not like to repeat.

Conclusion

In the end I will of course read over this again, and wonder, “What in the world was I thinking?”. Of course by the time I read over this out of school and I will be in my thirties, I would guess. [Took out a piece that made no sense, and with no replacement statement that could make sense I left it out].
