To whom it May Concern,

The time is coming for me to go out into the world and make a name for my self. The time is coming for me to start to plan my future and prepare the skills I will need to go out and have a successful career.  The work that is shown is just a small portion of the work I have done trough the past few years here at Tech High. The work shown is just an example of my work. The works shown are examples of both academic and professional quality work. Although I cannot show all my work, I can show some of my best work. This portfolio will show you the steps I have taken to prepare my self for the future. My academic and professional goals are also stated in the portfolio.

My long-term professional goals are to be apart of music production. I love music in every aspect. The chance for me to have my carrier be something that I enjoy doing is every ones dream. I plan on going to college to major in music and then going on to some sort of trade school. As of now I have been involved in music for a few years. I work with the City of Napa Recreation  as teen program worker. That means a lot of the events the city holds for the teens I’m apart of. I have DJ’ d some of the events and I have set up all the equipment numerous times. I know the equipment form top to bottom, inside and out. I have my own equipment that I know even better. I know the purpose of all the switches, buttons, cords, equalizers and ext.

With working at for the City of Napa I have gained a lot of experience with people and kids. I worked as a camp counselor witch gave me the chance to meet and talk with many parents and older adults. I feel I have the skills needed to deal with people on the one on one bases. With the city as well I have moved up and am dealing with more and more adults. I have the trust and the knowledge to make the right designs. My work has often left me in charge of other co-workers and events.

I have not done any volunteer work because I was apart of the staff I was always paid. In order to graduate from Tech High though, I have to have at least 20 hours of community service hours. I want my hours to be with schools and/or music events. I would volunteer to work at school dances or teen dances.

I hope that the examples given in my portfolio will be sufficient enough to meet the standards of the growing businesses in the twenty-first century.

Sincerely,

Nick Harrison
