Like the adult world, at NTHS students measure their peers on thier ability to contribute to a team effort. Not by the clothes they wear, or the music they listen to, or the car they drive.

Each student is known as an individual by his or her peers and teachers.

"The small school atmosphere: everyone here knows each other and the traditional clique system is broken apart. You learn a lot more about people who you never would have met at a regular, large high school because you are always working with them and spending time with them."
"The reason for me attending this school was to leave behind the distraction, disrespect and dishonesty from my old school. I honestly felt like my education was being deprived because of the disrespectful students who consistently take up the teachers' time by being disrespectful of them. You also couldn't trust them because it seemed like every day there would be somebody with a stolen backpack or money stolen from their wallets, or something someone stole from another person."
