Course Description:

Global Communications is a 9th grade thematic course integrating English and Geography. Through a series of collaborative projects, students will examine their own global identity as they explore and reflect upon historical events and current issues.  Students will read and respond to both classic and contemporary literature, as well as manuscript and informational material.   Students will write on a variety of subjects, demonstrating a variety of writing skills and strategies.  While guided by Geography themes based on National Geographic standards, this course emphasizes reading and writing and the mastery of English-Language Arts skills as outlined by the California State Standards.
