Course Description:
The purpose of this class is to develop leadership and facilitation skills through effective time management, goal setting and character building; create fun, safe, and motivating activities for the student body; and provide a structured and effective setting for the Associated Student Body. These objectives can be achieved by the students through synergetic discussions, active participation, honest self-reflection, and imagination.
Evaluation
Students will be graded in the following New Technology Learning Outcomes:
Work Ethic (20%)
This is determined by overall contribution to the class in the form of positive participation in student activities, willingness to help, attendance, on-task behavior and various assignments that fall under this category.
Participation/ Oral Communication (20%)
Students are expected participate in discussions by listening to their classmates and contributing at least once during a discussion. We will have at least one discussion a week. Students are given the opportunity to contribute to the all school meetings where your participation is of upmost importance. Your opinion matters!
Written Communication (20%)
This component includes all written correspondence with the teacher, classmates and student body as a whole. Student’s writing should be appropriate for the audience and include proper spelling, grammar, and voice.
Citizenship/ Ethics (20%)
Leadership students set an example for the rest of the student body. Behavior inside and outside the classroom should be professional and inspiring to those around you.
Collaboration (20%)
Students will grade each other’s effort and contribution to discussions, all school meetings, student activities, and ability motivate their peers.
