WRITTEN COMMUNICATION

This section displays my ability to write effectively using good sentence structure, revise what I have written to improve clarity and organization of ideas, and understand who the reader is and communicate written ideas effectively to my audience.

Throughout my years in high school my writing has progressed immensely. Below you can find two different work samples that I composed. The first was written in my Junior Year and the second near the end of my Senior Year. By comparing these two essays it is quite obvious as to where my writing has come. As I learn more I intend for my writing to progress even more.

EVIDENCE:

Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes: This is the essay that I completed during my junior year based on a short story that was read aloud in class. I feel that the writing displayed in this essay is not as strong as the following essay. By comparing this essay with "The History of the Future" you can easily see the progression that has taken place.

The History of the Future: This essay on the other hand is an excellent example of my work nearing the end of my Senior Year. This essay is a part of my senior project and is based on research on the history of computers. In this essay my thoughts are much more organized and there are better transitions within the paragraphs and sentences.

A Hindrance to true Advancement: This project is a script that my group and I came up with as a criticism to society. We created this script for a project based on the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. This script is an excellent examples of writing a play and also an example of oral communication through the way that it was performed. This play portrayed the point while being interesting and audience grabbing.
