My Role in the New Economy
Out of high school I am looking at going into the growing field of telecommunications. I am looking at hopefully becoming a telecommunication manager or analyst. Now before I continue on any further let me explain a little what a telecommunication manager does. Telecommunication itself is a field that includes the communication technologies. Such as telephones, fax, cell phones, computers and many more. So with the new improvements to technology, the more devices like cell phones and faxes come along to improve communication. So the telecommunication manager comes in to plan and direct the use of this new technology. They are the experts in this field to help companies in many ways. Like they try to determine the best long distance plan based on price and the needs of the business. That is just an example of what the telecommunication manager does. Telecommunication managers try to work only 40 hours a week but usually have to put in overtime.
To
accomplish this education wise I am planning to go to a four-year college to
get my master’s degree in business administration. Along with that I plan to
take technology classes in that will best help me in that field so I will know
what type of technology will work best for certain needs. Then I am going to
get a part time job in a related profession to meet the requirements for the
type of job I want and to get have that experience their for me.
During
the time I am in school I will be living at home so I will not have to spend
money on a place to live, water, and etc.. After school though I plan on
applying in San Francisco for a job. After getting a job there I plan on moving
out to an apartment but still living here in Fairfield and commuting to San
Francisco. When I first start working I should be making about $57,000 on the
average low for my type of field. So with that type of income I plan on moving
into the Roundhill Creek Apartments in Fairfield. It will be a 1-bedroom
apartment at $885 a month. The other cost I figured in besides my rent when I
moved out is water, electricity, food, car insurance, school loan, clothes, gas
and emergencies. So I figured that the total of all those cost would be about
$2,000 a month. So assuming that I get paid every two weeks then I would have $2375
a paycheck then I would get another during the middle of the month, making it
affordable for me. Like other people Affluenza will not effect me that much as
I will not be obsess with being rich and having material things although they
are nice. So during this time I will probably only spend about $500 a month on
luxuries and entertainment type of stuff. Then I will put about $200 aside for
the house I plan to get in the future. I will continue to live conservative
until I finally move up and increasing my pay.
Now
say I am earning the middle average pay at $65,000 a year, my life style will
change a little. I plan on still living in the same apartment and my water,
electricity, food, car insurance, school loan, clothes, and emergencies will
probably remain the same at about $2000 a month. I will probably spend about
$1000 a month on luxuries and entertainment. Then I would probably put about
$300 a month away for my future home. So with me earning more Affluenza becomes
more of a factor. Because now I have more money to buy the new things that are
coming out but still controlling myself and not feeling that I need new stuff
as a symbol status.
Lets
say now that I am earning that high average now of $73,000 a year then my life
style will greatly change from the last two life styles. I will first start off
living in the apartment. During that time my water, electricity, food, car
insurance, gas, school loan, clothes and emergencies will stay about $2,000 a
month. Then how much I spend on luxuries, entertainment, and vacations will
increase to about maybe to $1,300 a month. Then I would put aside $1500 a month
toward a house and after a year I would have $18000, giving me enough for a
down payment on the house. The house would be in Fairfield at $140,000. Then my
bills would probably increase to about $3000 a month but still affordable for
me. Then my luxury spending would probably decrease to about $1000 a month but
still leaving money in the bank in case something unexpected comes up. Affluenza would probably get to me more here
when I am making the most money because now I have more to spend on the new
things that everyone else has. But I doubt that it will ever become a huge
problem, as I know what I can afford and what I can’t.
During
these life styles I really don’t see the government as a big part of my life
except for the taxes. If they decide to raise taxes then that will affect me as
I have to pay for that. But other than taxes I really don’t think I will be
involved in any government programs or anything like that.
After looking through my life styles you will
realize that I don’t want an extravagant life style or anything like that. I
just want to live comfortably and not hurting for money. So I will continue to
work hard and try to accomplish this future goal I have.
