As I approach graduation from New Technology High School, I stop to reflect on the path that has led me to this point in my life. How have the past twelve years prepared me for life? The portfolio that follows this letter is a reflection of the work that I have completed throughout high school, on both academic and professional levels. Although the following portfolio is not nearly comprehensive enough to demonstrate all of my accomplishments, it should give a sense of the determination and hard work that I have put towards achieving my goals. This portfolio also shows the path I have chosen into my future.
My long-term goal is to become the owner of my own high-tech company or work in a high position at high-tech company. To attain this goal I have attended New Technology High School for my Junior and Senior years of high school. NTHS is a school focused around preparing students for the business and technology worlds. Since my freshman year, when I first decided that I wanted to be in the high-tech industry, I have seized every opportunity to advance in the vast world of computers. In an effort to reach my goals, I have stayed on top of the computer industry by continually learning about new technologies. I have completed 3 computer based community college courses. I spend my spare time helping local schools with computers and doing computer consulting for small business. I and a team of 15 other high school students, engineers, and teachers raised $25,000 dollars to design, build, and test a robot that competed at NASA/Ames Research Center and in Orlando, Florida at the Epcot Center. I was solely responsible for designing and building an electronic control system, which utilized embedded microprocessors. Now that I have had experience in the computer/electronics field for 3 years I know the determination required being in the high-tech field.
In my portfolio, you will see a few work examples of some programs I have built, databases I created and managed, and information about some of the computer systems I have setup. I think that in these pieces you will be able to see how much I have accomplished and how dedicated I am to becoming a computer engineer.
In addition, you will find a business plan and budget information about a company called West Coast InterConnect (WCIC). WCIC is a technology related company that two other friends and I are attempting to start up. Many months of hard work and determination have gone into the planning of this company; I'm very proud of it, and I believe it is a great addition to my portfolio that shows high skill level and determination

I hope that you enjoy my portfolio. I have enjoyed compiling it and feel it reflects me and my potential for success.
