Technology Literacy

Every project at New Technology High School involves technology literacy for me because I know very littlle about most computer applications and I struggle with most of the technology we use here. In my Political Studies class I was assigned a project that involved researching a topic and then giving a presentation relating to the topic. Throughout this project I exercised and improved my technology literacy. I was in a group of four students and I was responsible for making a power point presentation. The topic of our presentation was welfare reform. Each member of our group researched a different sub-topic and it was my job to combine all the information the group gathered into one power point. I used the skills I learned last year in my New Media and Computer Applications classes to make a power point presentation that is both informative and visually appealing.

The Project

This was an extra credit project that I did in my New Media 2 class. The original assignment was to make a collage in Adobe Photoshop. The collage had to contain eight images that each represented a different emotion. In the original assignment all of the images had to be orginal, created by me in photoshop. In this extra credit assignment I was allowed to use pictures and photos from other sources. Working on this project helped me learn way more about the program Adobe Photoshop than I knew before.
