Development:

This website was developed with an emphasis on
usability. My main goal for this website is to
get information across to my audience. I wanted
to create a portfolio that is accessible by a
large audience, versatile, and easy to use. The
best way to do this was to prevent high bandwidth
media and stick with verstile DHTML. The site's
foundation is built on html for quick loading,
and javascript for special effects like my drop
down menus.
Useability:
Each
page can be discovered through my drop down menu.
I used the drop down menu as my navigation bar
for easy access to whatever information the user
is looking for. There are also sub menus that
feed into subtopics. The purpose of these rollover
drop down menus was to prevent the use of clicking
and to make the site much more interactive without
eliminating load time.
Future
Plans:
My
next goal for this portfolio is to create a fully
interactive high bandwidth section that shows
my pure creativity. I decided that creating a
portfolio under Flash would distract the user
through interactivity rather than actually getting
information about me. The learning process is
also a factor. Instead of having my whole site
under flash, I would probably create things like
my Senior Project or Personal section under flash.
